I’m Working on a Book Essay

Poetry and all it’s Wonders

Over the last month, I have really been into poetry. At first, however, I didn’t know that I was writing poetry until one of my poems was curated on medium under poetry. I just thought what I had written was an artistic expression, but that is exactly what poetry is.

I became obsessed with it after that. I focused most of my energy on writing and reading poems and nothing else for a few weeks. So far I only have 31 poems that I’ve written. I want to get up to at least 50 before I even think of publishing the book, and I’m so excited!

Second Guessing Myself

I have felt a creative spark, something I’ve been lacking for nearly a year and it’s all thanks to poetry. But that doesn’t erase the feelings of whether my work is good enough to even be published.

I go back and forth on whether or not I should bother going forward with this project. I need to constantly remind myself that if I don’t at least give it a try I’ll never know what could have been.

Motivation

I love hyping up other writers and their projects. I love seeing writers succeed and live out their dreams, so even for one-moment to second guess myself is so awful.

If I am capable of motivating other writers then I am capable of motivating myself too.

Sometimes it’s hard to see how well you’re doing because the progress has been happening in front of your eyes ever so slowly. That is why it’s difficult to be proud of your accomplishments sometimes.

We all need a reminder that we are doing great.

Meaningful Poetry

If you love writing poetry too I would love to see some of your work. Being able to read someone else’s stuff is inspirational and motivational. I constantly need to be reminded that everyone is capable of making their art something meaningful.
